Dr Francesca Maclean, Strategic Director for Fifty50, a student-led organisation promoting gender equity in STEM at The Australian National University (ANU), recently spoke to Australian alumni and Australia Awards scholars about breaking barriers for women at TED-inspired presentation, “Cracking the Code of Women in STEM: Where are tomorrow’s women leaders in science,” at the Australian Embassy in Jakarta on 18 October 2018. She argued that society and workplace create many barriers along women’s pathway to leadership. And if we want women leaders, we then need to understand these barriers and break them.
