Enchanting evenings unfolded in Manokwari and Sorong on 28 and 29 October as we reconnected with our alumni at the Alumni Networking Dinners in both cities. Hosted by Australia’s Deputy Head of Mission to the Republic of Indonesia, Ms Gita Kamath, these dinners offered alumni a meaningful space to reconnect, forge new partnerships, and celebrate the enduring Australia-Indonesia relationship. The Australian Consul-General in Makassar, Mr Todd Dias, also attended these networking dinners, engaging warmly with alumni.
Ms Kamath opened each evening with inspiring remarks that set a welcoming tone for the gatherings. After her remarks, the evenings transitioned into vibrant networking sessions where alumni shared stories of their journeys, reflected on their time in Australia, and explored future collaborations. The relaxed atmosphere encouraged easy conversation and joyful reunions, with delicious food and drinks adding a festive touch.
We look forward to seeing everyone again at future gatherings, continuing our journey of shared knowledge, mutual understanding, and lasting friendships that strengthen the Australia-Indonesia bond.
