On 13 December 2023, Novotel Balikpapan came alive with nostalgia and celebration during the Australian Alumni Networking Dinner. Hostedy by Australia's Consul-General in Makassar, Mr Todd Dias, the evening started with warm opening remarks, setting the stage for an unforgettable night.
The Alumni Sharing Session shone bright with Dra Sri Wahyuni, MPP, the Regional Secretary of East Kalimantan, sharing her transformative experiences studying in Australia. With the presence of all alumni, the night resonated with joy and camaraderie—a testament to the enduring connections fostered through education and shared endeavours.
This gathering marks the finale of the 70 years of Australian Scholarships in Indonesia celebration. Throughout 2023, the Australian Embassy and Consulates-General in Indonesia led a year-long initiative dedicated to honouring alumni achievements. The celebration also aimed to introduce the Australian Global Alumni program to a new generation of scholars across Indonesia, featuring the Alumni Gala and Networking Dinners, captivating photo exhibitions, film screenings, and the vibrant “Gig on the Green” music festival.
